Who is your uplink provider?
“Uplink Provider” is usually used in describing a VSAT Teleport service provider, from whom Internet Service Providers (ISPs) purchase capacity for further redistribution to its customer base. In this situation, the definition doesn’t fully fit as Gateway’s Internet access is primarily sourced via the Subsea Terrestrial cables from Tier 1 Internet Backbone Providers such as Level 3 and KPN. As part of the backup Internet feed though, the company uplink from Belgium via Gateway Carrier’s own satellite teleport.

What is your coverage area for fibre connectivity?
There is a map on the www.getgateway.com site showing those areas covered by Gateway and showing other regions that will be live in October. Within Nigeria, already covered are key cities and states such as Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Aba, Ibadan, Enugu, Warri, Kano, Kaduna, Onitsha, Benin, Asaba. Coming up soon are Jos, Abeokuta, Makurdi, Akure, Yenegoa, Calabar, Owerri, Oshogbo, Minna, Ilorin, Lokoja, Maiduguri, Bauchi.

What is the maximum bandwidth you offer on satellite and fibre respectively.
On the terrestrial products namely AirLink, V-Link, MetroLink and AfricaMPLSconnect the company offer varying bandwidth options to suit specific customer needs. AirLink maximum bandwidth is 6Mbps, V-Link can offer up to 20Mbps, MetroLink up to 8Mbps. On VSAT it depends on if the customer is looking at a broadband VSAT solution (<4Mbps)or an SCPC offering which can carry upto around 100Mbps as can be fitted into a full satellite transponder. On fibre, Gateway can offer up to an STM1 or GEth.
