Blog Day 2008: My Personal Blog Nominated

Blogging as an online activity is increasing evolving in this part of the world. More people are getting online to share their expertise, experiences, passion, private life and more, for the fun of it or to earn some additional income to pay those bills. Although the motivation for blogging is as diverse as the various blogging subjects, one thing remains – African blogs are increasing in number, and the existing ones improving in quality. Not to forget many that have fallen by the way side.

It just makes sense that there is a movement to celebrate the activities of bloggers in world, once every year. It was thus a pleasant surprise to me to learn about BlogDay. From their website:

BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors.
With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. This way, all blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs.

It is in this spirit that Loy Okezie of StartsUpNigeria.com recommended my personal self-named blog “Oluniyi David Ajao” as one of the 5 Nigerian blogs he monitors regularly and enjoys reading. See: StartupsNigeria: Nigerian Bloggers for Blog Day 2008

With exception of BellaNaija, I know the other blogs he has recommended and have a great respect for their respect authors. What else can I say? Things can only get better.

    Dear Oluniyi David Ajao
I stumbled onto your website by looking for ways to make money online (GoldOasis Exchange) You promise their that you will give info on some issues like: 1. Offer expertise online 2. Join affiliate programs 3. Offer service / sell goods but I could not find anything after April 2007.
I recently started my own business and have a website but how do you generate trafic to a website if you do not have money to advertise. In SA (South Africa) it is very expensive to advertise anywhere.
I love your website by the way.
    Greetings from Cape Town

  2. Maritha, it is no crime to be frugal. Well, though this is off-topic, I will assist. See my post titled: “Advertise your website for free”

  3. Hundreds of Nigerians have benefited from our website by learning how to make genuine money online. This owes to our large mailing list. We have been mentoring and coaching them for free. Hoping to have a corporation sponsor us soon as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Anyway, we aren’t doing show biz to be recognised and nominated for award but we know that we have impacted young Nigerians enormously.

I wish Bloggers 2008 the best! Be objective in your screening and selection process. motivate young bloggers to continue blogging.

    Best of luck
