The MTN brand is set to enter Ghana very soon. The re-branding process has already started, following the acquisition of Investcom (owners of the Areeba cellular networks) for $5.5 billion, last year.
Signs in front of Areeba offices have been taken off, waiting for new signs bearing the MTN logos and brand colours. 
I checked www.mtn.com.gh It has been registered and the holding page is in the colours of MTN with a “Coming Soon” text.
Another round of re-branding? Well. Just two years ago, Scancom Ghana Limited undertook an extensive re-branding from Spacefon to Spacefon-Areeba to Areeba. Now its MTN. Its all well and good.
One can only hope that things get better, that their service delivery actually improves. I know service by MTN Nigeria is very horrible. I use MTN whenever I’m in Nigeria. I hope that horrible service doesn’t extend to Ghana!

@Qwerty, why not visit the nearest MTN service centre? They would gladly enter the settings on your phone.

It been a long time that i have use mtn chip.
Oh mtn,i asked for gprs setting and the customer service asked me to load my phone to 4.5Ghc.The settings were sent and bet me when i get to the page ”you are currently not allowed acess this page” is boldly displayed. What crime have i committed again,somebody advice me.

MTN is a nice network and I can boldly confess that indeed is the best among the lot.
MTN has given me the shoke I will never forget in my life. it is most suisidal than joy, that, during the TEXT GO promotion event, I spent so much to aquire 1300+ points, but never won anything.
I am sorry to announce that do to this deceive and unfair promo, i will never on earth participate in any event organise by MTN again.
I no longer trust you. i am sorry.
