WordPress Stats Plugin

Do you run a blog powered by WordPress software? Well, it might interest you to learn that WordPress.org has now released a plugin that works with WordPress-powered blogs that are not hosted on WordPress.com

I downloaded and installed the plugin just yesterday and it worked smoothly for me. One downside though is that it doesn’t display the countries most visitors are coming from - unlike Google Analytics or other website traffic statistics software.

Automattic Stats is available for download here.

  1. I think I prefer Stat Traq. With a little hack one can get it to capture statistics for feeds too.

Call me paranoid, but I don’t like the idea of using an externally hosted script to capture my stats.
