One of the most popular searches on the leading search engines like Google, Yahoo Search and Windows Live Search when it comes to e-currency searches is “paypal to e-gold” or “paypal e-gold”. This betrays a deep drive amongst e-gold users to convert their paypal funds to e-gold, or that some scammers/hackers who have managed to take-over someone’s e-gold account, are eager to convert it to anonymous e-gold.

But then, is it really possible to convert paypal to e-gold?

Well, the truth is, paypal frowns at this type of transaction. The same thing applies to moneybookers. They do not want users to convert funds from their system to e-gold – at least, not directly.

Another reason is that, since Paypal can be funded with credit cards (or major debit cards), scammers take advantage of that to use stolen credit cards to buy e-gold. When the real owner of the credit card charges-back, the e-gold merchant suffers because the paypal funds will be reversed whereas, e-gold cannot be reversed. Thus, the anonymous scammer wins. It is thus very risky for any e-gold exchanger to accept paypal, and pay out e-gold.
