I’ve been home now for three days at a stretch. Today of all days, my birthday, I’m home, all day. No thanks to my illness.

Well, I guess I’d just spend time doing some writing.

Two Saturdays ago, I was at a friend’s house, and she told me 13th September was her birthday. I looked at her, smiled and relaxed into the settee. I looked at her
again told her it was also my birthday. She thought I was kidding. Well, I managed to convinced her. Truth is, I never met anyone I shared a birthday with, all through my life!

The feeling was different when she sent me a text at 12 midnight. I called her, kept quiet for some seconds, and said “Happy Birthday” and she was overwhelmed
with excitement before replying: “Same to you”. Na wa o.

I logged in to one of my email accounts, and got a message from a discussion forum I belonged wishing me Happy Birthday; same with “My Yahoo!” web page.

What took me by surprise was a publication by a friend on his web site.

Happy Birthday DA!

My friend David Ajao of MobileAfrica is an extra year old today. I am of the opinion that he is doing a great job with MobileAfrica. If you haven’t been to MobileAfrica.net yet, its probably the most comprehensive online spot for news and trends on the mobile industry in Africa.

The interesting thing is, I have never met Mr Ajao in person before, and really have no idea what he even looks like! But we have been good friends all the same. Wierd things the internet encourages….

What a birthday anniversary it has been!
